After you choose a game in the New Game Dialog you proceed to the main window in GeoAze, which displays the Map you just specified. To the left of the main screen are Tool Buttons allowing you to perform various actions (see below) and to the right is the Game Details dialog.
Note: If the map is too big to fit on the screen in its entirety, scroll bars will appear as needed, so you can scroll the map as you please. However, even more conveniently, you can just click anywhere on the background (i.e. anywhere except a button) of the map with the left mouse button, and simply drag the map around .
This dialog shows the details of the current state of game, such as the current player, the map chosen, the current score, and the current question
Note: A score of say 8/9 (11) means that the player was asked 9 questions, of which 8 were answered correctly, and 2 weren't asked (because either the game is still in progress, or because a new game was started before the final 2 questions could be posed).
Click on the X in the top right corner of this dialog to toggle between minimum (to maximise space available for the map) and normal version of the dialog.
New Game Opens the New Game Dialog which allows you to start a new game.
Study Map: Shows the answers to all the questions on the map. Items on the map that are not in the current level are shown in "grayed out" text when you study the map. Once you study the map you cant proceed the game but rather must start again, thereby resetting the score.
Player Statistics Opens the Player Statistics Dialog which gives you full details of how each player has fared on each map so far.
Game Settings Opens the Settings Dialog which allows you to configure various options for the way the GeoAze behaves and looks, including the new Style Engine, and sound effects.
Full Screen: Toggles between full screen mode and normal mode. Full screen mode
maximises the space available to the game by hiding the task bar and the title bar. To play in full screen mode, click on this tool button. To switch back to normal mode, click on it again.
Exit: After asking you to confirm your intention, GeoAze exits.
Help Viewer: Shows the GeoAze help viewer displaying the html version of this manual
About: Shows the GeoAze splash screen, including links to the Silverglint website, email address, and the version of GeoAze you're currently using.
